Specifications
Target Information
α-N-acetylgalactosaminidase (EC 3.2.1.49) is a glycoside hydrolase found in both bacteria and animals. It is also known as nagalase. Nagalase catalyzes the deglycosylation of the Gc protein, also known as vitamin D3 binding protein. This renders the Gc protein incapable of being converted to the regulatory protein Gc Macrophage Activating Factor (GcMAF). Bovine Alpha-N-Acetylgalactosaminidase is encoded by the NAGA gene in cattle. It hydrolyzes GalNAcalpha1-O-Ser/Thr.
