Target Information

Lupus La Protein Homolog, also known as La autoantigen homolog, is a protein in cattle. Lupus La protein homolog binds to the 3' poly (U) terminus of nascent RNA polymerase III transcripts. This binding protects the transcripts from exonuclease digestion and facilitates their folding and maturation. It plays a role in the maturation of tRNA precursors by stabilizing them against exonucleases and facilitating efficient folding of certain pre-tRNAs.
