Target Information

Bovine Synapsin-1 is encoded by the SYN1 gene in cattle. SYN1 is a phosphoprotein that helps transmit nerve signals. The synapsin family shares protein domains and is involved in neuronal development, synaptogenesis, maintaining mature synapses, and modulating neurotransmitter release. Synapsin I is a key player in synaptic function, neurotransmitter release, and neuronal communication. Dysregulation of Synapsin I has implications for neuropsychiatric diseases.
