Target Information
Oxidized low-density lipoprotein (ox-LDL) is a particle originating from circulating LDL that may be oxidized in either or both of its primary components: apoprotein and lipids. OxLDL promotes cell proliferation by inducing cell cycle proteins. The function of oxidized low-density lipoprotein (OxLDL) in rabbits is closely related primarily to its role in atherosclerosis and inflammatory responses. In the rabbit model, OxLDL was able to activate immune cells and induce the release of pro-inflammatory factors. IgG antibodies in rabbit serum recognize and bind OxLDL, suggesting that the immune system may play an important role in OxLDL-mediated atherosclerosis.
