Target Information

The NOS3 gene in dogs encodes Nitric Oxide Synthase 3, also referred to as Endothelial NOS. This enzyme generates nitric oxide (NO), which plays a role in the relaxation of vascular smooth muscle via a cGMP-mediated signal transduction pathway. Additionally, NO facilitates vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-induced angiogenesis within coronary vessels and aids in blood clotting by activating platelets.
