Target Information

Plasminogen is a single-chain polypeptide with a unique cleavage site that separates the inactive zymogen form from the active protease domain upon activation. Plasminogen circulates in the blood at high concentrations, readily available for activation at sites of clot formation. It has a high affinity for fibrin, allowing it to localize at the site where its activity is needed for clot dissolution. Plasminogen (Plg) is an important enzyme present in the blood, whose function is to dissolve fibrinogen blood clots.
