Target Information

Serpin family D member 1, known as heparin cofactor 2, is encoded by the SERPIND1 gene in dogs. This plasma protein effectively inhibits thrombin in the presence of dermatan sulfate, heparan sulfate, or heparin. Heparin cofactor 2 is suggested to play roles in coagulation regulation and participate in processes like inflammation, atherosclerosis, and wound repair.
