Target Information

Arachidonic acid (AA) is an essential fatty acid and a precursor in the biosynthesis of prostaglandins, thromboxanes, and leukotrienes. Arachidonic acid has a 20-carbon chain and four cis-double bonds. Arachidonic acid is present in the phospholipids of cell membranes, especially in the brain, muscles, and liver. The first double bond is located at the sixth carbon from the omega end.
