Target Information

The natriuretic peptide (NP) family, consisting primarily of A-type natriuretic peptide (ANP), B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP), and C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP), is well recognized for its production in both the cardiovascular and central nervous systems. In goats, the C-type natriuretic peptide is encoded by the NPPC gene. Studies have demonstrated that CNP plays a role in regulating the expression and secretion of the antibacterial peptide S100A7 in the goat mammary gland via the PKG/JNK/c-Jun signaling pathway.
