Target Information

Cinobufagin is a cardiotoxic bufanolide steroid that is secreted by the Asiatic toad Bufo gargarizans. It has similar effects to digitalis and is used in traditional Chinese medicine. Cinobufagin can be isolated from a traditional Chinese medicine called ChanSu, which is made from various chemicals present in Bufo gargarizans secretions. It is a potential therapeutic agent for treating malignant glioma and other human cancers expressing EGFR.
