Target Information

Citrulline, also known as l-citrulline, is a non-essential amino acid produced in the liver and intestine. Citrulline is an essential player in the urea cycle, which helps the body eliminate harmful substances like ammonia. It acts as an intermediate, aiding in the conversion of ammonia into urea, which can be safely excreted. Research has shown that oral administration of L-citrulline (L-Cit) can minimize hyperthermia in chickens under high ambient temperatures.
