Target Information

CA-125, also known as mucin 16 or MUC16, is a protein encoded by the MUC16 gene. MUC16 is a member of the mucin family of glycoproteins. It is highly glycosylated, and it creates a hydrophilic environment that acts as a lubricating barrier against foreign particles and infectious agents on the apical membrane of epithelial cells. Chicken Muc16 was identified as one of the 3 transmembrane mucins (Muc4, Muc13, and Muc16).

Target/Biomarker Chicken MUC16
Target Synonym mucin 16 cell surface associated; mucin-16; mucin 16
