Target Information
The thrombin-antithrombin complex (TAT) is a protein complex composed of thrombin and antithrombin. It serves as an indicator of overall coagulation activation. TAT is formed in response to elevated thrombin levels, which occur as a result of coagulation following a vessel rupture. In a rabbit model, it was found that exposure to heparin-like molecules through the vascular endothelium significantly accelerated the formation of TAT complexes. This suggests that in rabbits, TAT complex formation may be influenced by the vascular endothelium and the local environment.
