Target Information

Troponin T, Fast Skeletal Muscle Isoforms is encoded by the TNNT3 gene in chickens. This protein has emerged as a potential candidate gene mainly associated with actin binding and the composition of myofibrils. Increased levels of TNNT3 have been observed in cases of myopathy in the pectoralis major muscle of rapidly growing broilers, possibly due to decreased oxygen availability to the breast muscle.
