Target Information

Interleukin 2 is encoded by the IL2 gene in horses. IL2 is known as a T cell growth factor and is a glycoprotein produced by T lymphocytes upon appropriate stimulation. Research has shown that both equine IL2 and IL4 induce lymphocyte proliferation in a dose-dependent manner. IL-2 is essential for establishing cellular immune memory and recognizing self-antigens and foreign antigens.
