Target Information

Interferon-stimulated Gene 20 kDa Protein is encoded by the ISG20 gene in pigs. ISG20 is a broad-spectrum antiviral protein that directly degrades viral RNA. This enzyme is capable of degrading viral RNA without apparent sequence specificity. A study has revealed a novel role of ISG20 as a translational modulator of foreign genetic material, playing an important function during viral infection in vivo.
