Target Information
C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 10 (CXCL10) is a small cytokine that is part of the CXC chemokine family. It is secreted by various cell types, including monocytes, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts, in response to IFN-γ. CXCL10 is induced by interferons and plays a role in the immune response to viral infections. Studies in hamsters have shown that CXCL10 expression is induced in different organs following viral infection. Given hamsters are used as models for various diseases, understanding CXCL10's function in hamsters is valuable. Its role in hamsters is consistent with its function in other mammals, making it an important molecule in hamster research models.
