Target Information

Canine ERK2, or extracellular signal-regulated kinase 2, is a protein kinase that plays a pivotal role in the regulation of cell growth, differentiation, and survival in dogs. It is involved in signal transduction pathways that respond to various stimuli, including growth factors, cytokines, and stress signals. ERK2 is known to phosphorylate and activate transcription factors such as c-Fos and Elk-1, which in turn regulate gene expression related to cell proliferation and differentiation. Recent studies also suggest that ERK2 activity is crucial for proper chromosome alignment during cell division in canine cells, highlighting its importance in maintaining genomic stability.
