Porcine NK2 homeobox 1 (pNKX2-1), also known as thyroid-specific enhancer-binding protein (T/EBP), is a transcription factor playing a critical role in the development of the foregut, particularly in the formation of the thyroid and lung. This protein is a member of the NK2 homeobox family, which is characterized by the presence of a homeobox domain that allows for DNA binding and regulation of gene expression.
