Target Information

Porcine P2Y purinoceptor 1 (pP2Y1), also known as the P2Y1 receptor, is a G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) that plays a crucial role in cellular signaling, particularly in response to extracellular nucleotides such as adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and adenosine diphosphate (ADP). pP2Y1 is predominantly involved in the regulation of various physiological processes, including platelet aggregation, smooth muscle contraction, and the modulation of intracellular calcium levels. This receptor is expressed in a variety of tissues, with significant implications for hemostasis, inflammation, and tissue repair. In pigs, pP2Y1 contributes to the maintenance of vascular integrity and the response to injury, playing a key role in the pig's cardiovascular system.
