Target Information

Ceruloplasmin is a metalloenzyme with oxidase activity. It is the major copper-carrying protein in the blood. It plays a role in iron metabolism. It exhibits a copper-dependent oxidase activity. It has been reported as an indicator of copper status in cattle and sheep. Its activity appears to correlate more closely with serum or plasma copper concentrations than with corresponding liver copper concentrations.
