Target Information

Superoxide is produced as a by-product of oxygen metabolism. Superoxide dismutase 1 is a member of the superoxide dismutase family. It contributes to the first line of the antioxidant pathway by catalyzing the conversion of superoxide radical to hydrogen peroxide. Research has shown that E2 plays an important role in the regulation of SOD1 in the endometrium of ovariectomized ewes.
