Target Information

Chicken caspase-3, similar to its mammalian counterparts, is an essential component of the apoptotic pathway. It is expressed in various tissues and has been identified as a key mediator of cell death in several physiological and pathological processes. The activation of caspase-3 in response to various stimuli, such as developmental cues or cellular stress, initiates a cascade of events that ultimately leads to the dismantling of the cell. In the context of poultry health, caspase-3 has been implicated in the regulation of apoptosis in chicken granulosa cells, which is an important aspect of follicle development and atresia. Furthermore, the study of caspase-3 in chickens can provide insights into the molecular mechanisms of cell death in response to infections, such as fowl cholera caused by Pasteurella multocida, where the localization and expression levels of caspase-3 may be significant in the pathogenesis of the disease.
