Target Information
Porcine eEF1A2 binding protein, also known as eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1 alpha 2 (EEF1A2), is a crucial translation elongation factor that plays a key role in the protein synthesis process. As an isoform of the eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1 alpha, eEF1A2 is involved in the translational machinery of the cell, specifically in the elongation phase of protein synthesis. The genomic sequence, gene organization, and mRNA expression patterns of porcine EEF1A1 and EEF1A2 genes have been studied, revealing differences in transcription unit lengths and tissue-specific expression. While EEF1A1 mRNA is expressed in all studied tissues with the highest expression in fetal muscle, EEF1A2 mRNA expression is more restricted, predominantly found in skeletal muscle, tongue, heart, diaphragm, and brain tissues, but not in fetal muscle tissue.
