Target Information
Porcine PIK3R1 (Phosphoinositide-3-Kinase Regulatory Subunit 1, also known as p85α) is a key regulatory subunit of the PI3K complex, involved in intracellular signaling pathways that regulate cell growth, survival, and metabolism. It binds to activated receptor tyrosine kinases and acts as an adapter, mediating the association of the p110 catalytic subunit with the plasma membrane. PIK3R1 is essential for insulin-stimulated glucose uptake and glycogen synthesis in insulin-sensitive tissues. Mutations in this gene are associated with insulin resistance and various diseases, including cancer.
