Target Information
Porcine CD21, also known as complement receptor 2 (CR2), is a protein expressed on the surface of B cells and some T cells in pigs. It plays a significant role in the immune system by facilitating the interaction of B cells with antigens and the activation of the complement system. pCD21 is involved in the binding of complement component C3d to B cells, which enhances the ability of B cells to recognize and respond to antigens. This process is crucial for the activation, proliferation, and differentiation of B cells into antibody-producing plasma cells.
