Target Information
Porcine L1 cell adhesion molecule (L1CAM), also known as neuroglycan, is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily of cell adhesion molecules that plays a pivotal role in cell-cell interactions and cellular signaling in pigs. L1CAM is particularly abundant in the nervous system, where it contributes to neuronal migration, axonal growth, and the formation of synapses during development. This transmembrane protein mediates homophilic and heterophilic interactions, allowing cells to recognize and adhere to one another, which is essential for the proper organization of tissues and the maintenance of cellular architecture. L1CAM also interacts with various intracellular proteins, modulating intracellular signaling pathways that influence cell behavior.
