Target Information
Porcine Serine/Threonine-Protein Kinase (mTOR) is a central regulator of cellular metabolism, growth, and survival. It is a key component of two distinct complexes, mTORC1 and mTORC2, which control protein synthesis, cell growth, and lipid metabolism in response to nutrients, hormones, and stress signals. mTORC1 is particularly important for regulating protein synthesis and autophagy, while mTORC2 is involved in cytoskeletal organization and cell survival. This kinase is also a downstream effector of the PI3K/Akt pathway and is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis.
