Target Information

Porcine proliferating cell nuclear antigen (pPCNA), also known as cyclin-dependent DNA synthesis protein, is a key protein involved in the DNA synthesis phase of the cell cycle, specifically during DNA replication. pPCNA serves as a sliding clamp for DNA polymerase delta, enhancing the processivity and fidelity of DNA synthesis in cells. This protein is expressed in all cells that are actively proliferating, making it a marker for cell proliferation. In pigs, pPCNA plays a critical role in various biological processes, including embryonic development, tissue regeneration, and the maintenance of stem cell populations.
