Target Information
Porcine calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II alpha (CAMK2A) is a crucial enzyme involved in the calcium/calmodulin-dependent signaling pathway in pigs. CAMK2A is a multifunctional serine/threonine kinase that plays a significant role in various cellular processes, including the regulation of neuronal plasticity, gene expression, and muscle contraction. This kinase is activated by the binding of calcium-calmodulin complex, which then triggers a series of phosphorylation events affecting target proteins. CAMK2A is highly expressed in the brain and muscle tissues, where it contributes to the control of synaptic transmission, learning, and memory processes, as well as muscle function.
