Target Information
Porcine Insulin-Like Growth Factor II (IGF-II) is a polypeptide growth factor that plays a crucial role in promoting cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival during fetal and postnatal development. It is structurally similar to insulin and IGF-I, and it binds with high affinity to the type 1 insulin-like growth factor receptor (IGF-1R) and the insulin receptor isoform A (IR-A), activating signaling pathways such as PI3K/Akt and ERK/MAPK. IGF-II is particularly abundant during fetal development and is essential for normal growth.
