Target Information

Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha (TNF-α) is a prototypic pro-inflammatory cytokine involved in the innate immune response in swine. TNFα has been proposed as a central player in inflammatory cell activation and recruitment. Swine TNF-α can also cause inflammation through its ability to induce IL-6 and IL-8 secretion by epithelial cells. TNF-α plays a critical role in the development of many chronic inflammatory diseases.
