Target Information

In rabbits, the VEGFA gene encodes vascular endothelial growth factor A, a member of the platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF)/vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) family. VEGFA is a potent inducer of angiogenesis, promoting the proliferation and migration of endothelial cells to form new blood vessels. This process is essential for development, wound healing, and tissue repair. Studies have indicated that continuous compression reduces both vascular bud formation and VEGFA expression in a rabbit vertebral endplate ex vivo culture model.
