Target Information

Lyme borreliosis is a tick-borne bacterial disease that affects humans and animals such as dogs, horses, and possibly cats. The disease is caused by Borrelia burgdorferi, a member of the spirochete class within the Borrelia genus. CRASP-1 (complement regulator-acquiring surface protein 1) is a critical factor H and FHL-1-binding protein in Borrelia burgdorferi, playing a key role in the pathogen's persistence.
