Target Information
Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) genome polyprotein is a large precursor protein encoded by the BVDV genome. It is translated from a single open reading frame (ORF) and subsequently processed by both viral and cellular proteases into mature viral proteins, including structural and non-structural proteins. This polyprotein is essential for virus replication and assembly, as it gives rise to all the proteins necessary for the formation of new viral particles. The processing of the polyprotein is a critical step in the viral life cycle, and it involves the generation of proteins that play various roles in the infection process, such as envelope proteins that mediate virus entry into host cells and non-structural proteins that participate in viral RNA replication and immune evasion.
