Target Information
Lyme borreliosis is a tick-borne bacterial disease that affects humans and animals such as dogs, horses, and possibly cats. The disease is caused by Borrelia burgdorferi, a member of the spirochete class within the Borrelia genus. Binding of host proteins is primarily mediated by bacterial surface-exposed proteins that have been collectively referred to as complement regulator-acquiring surface proteins, or CRASPs. CRASP-2 is a member of these proteins.
