Target Information
Clostridioides difficile Toxin B (tcdB) itself does not have the ability to infect, but as part of Clostridium difficile, this bacterium can indeed infect animals. In the veterinary field, Toxin B is a significant pathogenic factor that can damage intestinal epithelial cells, leading to severe intestinal inflammation and diarrhea. It disrupts the cytoskeleton, causing cell damage and death.
