Target Information

Clostridioides difficile glutamate dehydrogenase (gluD) itself does not have the ability to infect, but as part of Clostridium difficile, this bacterium can indeed infect animals. In the veterinary field, GDH is an important diagnostic marker for detecting Clostridium difficile infections in animal intestines. GDH catalyzes the conversion of glutamate to α-ketoglutarate and ammonia, participating in bacterial metabolism.
