Target Information

Lyme borreliosis is a bacterial disease transmitted by ticks, affecting animals such as dogs, horses, and possibly cats, as well as humans. The causative agent, Borrelia burgdorferi, belongs to the spirochete class within the Borrelia genus. Research has shown that Borrelia burgdorferi outer surface protein C (OspC) binds complement component C4b and confers bloodstream survival.
