Bovine angiopoietin 2 (ANGPT2) is a growth factor that acts as a modulator of the Tie2 receptor, which is crucial in the development and maintenance of the vascular system in cattle. As a naturally occurring antagonist of angiopoietin-1 (ANGPT1), ANGPT2 plays a significant role in vascular remodeling, inflammation, and immune responses. It is stored in endothelial Weibel-Palade bodies and can be rapidly released upon stimulation, such as during inflammation or ischemic conditions.
