Target Information

Bovine Calmodulin is a ubiquitous calcium-binding protein that acts as a calcium sensor, regulating various cellular processes in response to changes in calcium levels. It is found in all eukaryotic cells, present in the cytoplasm, nucleus, and other cellular compartments. It is encoded by the CALM gene in cattle. Equilibrium dialysis measurements of the binding of Ca2+ to calmodulin have confirmed the existence of four high affinity 2+-binding sites.
