Target Information
Bovine keratocan is a member of the small leucine-rich repeat proteoglycan (SLRP) family, specifically a keratan sulfate proteoglycan. It is primarily found in the cornea and is crucial for maintaining corneal transparency and tissue organization by interacting with collagen fibrils, which is essential for the mechanical properties and light transmission of the corneal stroma.
