Target Information

Leptin is a hormone mainly produced by adipocytes and intestinal cells in the small intestine. It helps regulate energy balance by suppressing hunger, which in turn reduces fat storage in adipocytes. In cattle, leptin is a potential mediator of early placental development and function.
