Target Information

Bovine mannose-binding protein C (MBP-C) is a member of the collectin family of proteins, which are part of the innate immune system in cattle. This protein plays a vital role in the first line of defense against pathogens by recognizing and binding to specific carbohydrate structures on the surface of microbes, particularly mannose, fucose, and N-acetylglucosamine. MBP-C can activate the complement system, enhancing the clearance of pathogens and promoting phagocytosis. It also contributes to the modulation of inflammatory responses and has been implicated in the regulation of immune cell functions within the Bovine organism.
