Target Information
Bovine transforming growth factor beta Induced Protein (TGFbI), also known as βig-H3, is an extracellular matrix protein induced by TGF-β. It plays a role in cell adhesion, migration, and angiogenesis. TGFbI interacts with integrins and other ECM molecules, and its expression is associated with adipose tissue expansion, inflammation, and metabolic disorders. Studies have shown that TGFbI deletion can protect against obesity by limiting adipose tissue expansion and improving insulin/glucose homeostasis. It also has implications in diseases involving immune cell interactions and vascular health
