Target Information
Canine Beta-2-glycoprotein 1 (β2GPI) is a plasma protein that plays a role in immune regulation and blood clotting. It is unique in its ability to both up and down regulate the complement and coagulation systems, which is crucial for maintaining homeostasis. β2GPI is also the primary antigen in antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), an autoimmune condition characterized by thrombosis and pregnancy complications. In dogs, β2GPI may have similar roles in immune response and hemostasis.
