Target Information
The D(2) dopamine receptor, also referred to as the Dopamine D2 receptor, is encoded by the DRD2 gene in dogs. This receptor is the primary target for most antipsychotic drugs. D2 receptors are coupled to the Gi subtype of G protein, which inhibits the activity of adenylyl cyclase, a key enzyme in the signaling cascade.
