Target Information

Macrophage Inflammatory Proteins (MIP), part of the chemokine family of chemotactic cytokines, include MIP-1α and MIP-1β as key factors. These proteins are primarily produced by macrophages and monocytes upon stimulation by bacterial endotoxins or proinflammatory cytokines like IL-1β. While MIP-1 proteins are recognized for their chemotactic and proinflammatory properties, they also play a role in maintaining homeostasis.
