Target Information
In felines, ATP synthase protein 8 (MT-ATP8) is a membrane subunit of mitochondrial ATP synthase (Complex V), involved in proton-motive force-driven ATP synthesis. Encoded by mitochondrial DNA, MT-ATP8 stabilizes the ATP synthase complex by interacting with other subunits. Dysfunction in MT-ATP8 can lead to mitochondrial disorders related to ATP synthase dysfunction.
