Target Information

Feline Cytochrome C Oxidase Subunit 2 (MT-CO2) is a key component of mitochondrial Complex IV, encoded by mitochondrial DNA. It transfers electrons from cytochrome c to oxygen, producing water. MT-CO2 is essential for energy metabolism and oxidative phosphorylation. Dysfunction in MT-CO2 can lead to mitochondrial disorders. Abnormal expression of MT-CO2 has been observed in conditions like inflammatory bowel disease and low-grade alimentary lymphoma.
